Update meter rates instructions

 

UPDATED:  20 June 2017

In 2016, Canada Post announced an important change to their regulations regarding parcel shipments to take effect on 31 March 2017. Canada Post no longer accepts postage meter impressions for payment when sending parcels. In order to remain compliant with the new regulation, all meters that currently have parcel rates will require a rate update. This update will remove domestic parcel rates (including Intellilink™ packages Services and library book rates, if applicable) as well as USA and international parcel rates from your postage meter. 

Important information for clients using Intellilink® Package Services (IPS) on the postage meter:

Canada Post will no longer accept electronic tracking data (electronic manifests) from the postage meter after 20 June 2017.  We recommend that you start using SendPro™ prior to 20 June 2017 in order to avoid disruptions in your business parcel processing operations.

 

DM125 (PREC) /DM300c/DM400c/DM475 (G910

 

  • Update meter now and removal of parcel rates will take effect on 19 June 2017

NOTE: You will need to complete an additional download on June 19 to activate the update to remove the obsolete parcel rates.

 


Connect+ Series and SendPro P series

  • Update meter now and removal of parcel rates will take effect on 30 June 2017 at midnight


DM500- DM1100

  • Update meter now and removal of parcel rates will take effect on 30 June 2017 at midnight


NOTES:

  • Neither mailstation™, mailstation2™ nor meters that do not have installed parcel rates are affected by this rate update.

  • There will be no impact to the postal rates for Lettermail™, USA and International Letter-Post, Incentive Lettermail, or Canada Post Personalized Mail™ (formerly Addressed Admail).  Meter users will continue to save up to 18% over the retail price of stamps.

  • You will not be invoiced for this rate update


For specific instructions that will guide you through the process to update your meter, choose your Pitney Bowes postage meter and model number from the following list.

mailstation 2™: model K7C2 with SmartLink

SmartLink™ connects your mailstation2™ meter to the Pitney Bowes Commerce Cloud. SmartLink uses your internet connection to sync with the Pitney Bowes Data Centre to download postal rate updates and update software automatically.

Please ensure that you click on the "check for updates" icon on your Connect+/ SendPro P system to ensure that you have downloaded all current rates and software for your system. You will also need to install the updates once they are downloaded into the system so they can take effect. You may need to click the "check for updates" icon again to check for more updates.
