Clear "Inspection Due" or "Connection Required" messages on your meter

Clear Inspection or Connection Messages on your meter USPS regulations require a meter be inspected periodically. This inspection occurs automatically when your meter connects to the Pitney Bowes Data Center to refill postage or your system connects to perform a balance inquiry.

USPS® regulations require that your meter be inspected periodically. This inspection occurs automatically when you connect your meter to the Pitney Bowes Data Center to refill postage or perform a balance inquiry. If no connection is made within a 90 day period, your meter displays the messages "Inspection Due", and then "Inspection Required" - or- "Connection Required". You must clear this message before you can operate your meter.

If an inspection is not performed within 30 days of a message, the meter will display: 'Connection Required', or 'Inspection Required', or 'Connect Before the 6th'. You must follow the instructions for your meter, listed above, to prevent the machine from being locked out (i.e., unable to run mail).
