Pitney Bowes receives Software Innovation recognition.

SYDNEY, August 17, 2017… Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI), a global technology company that provides innovative products and solutions to power commerce, today announced that the company has been honoured in the prestigious Software Innovation category. Pitney Bowes has been recognised as an ABA100 Winner for Software Innovation at The Australian Business Awards 2017.

At Pitney Bowes, the client is at the centre of all innovation across solutions, R&D, business processes and business models. Through ongoing research and development, Pitney Bowes has followed four key principles - power, simplicity, speed and compatibility in creating successful location analytics software solutions. The MapInfo Pro Advanced solution is a reflection of these driving principles, evident in its ability to visualise and manage risk, analyse network coverage, map flood risk and analyse crime hot spots.

Nigel Lester, ANZ Managing Director of Software Solutions says the award recognises Pitney Bowes’ achievements in the research and development of MapInfo Pro Advanced. “We are extremely proud to be recipients of this award and to be recognised for our innovation in location analytics. The success of the MapInfo Pro solution is a reflection of Pitney Bowes’ continuing drive to deliver data insights which support business outcomes and enhance the customer experience.”

Lauding on this award achievement, Matt Emmerson, Technical Officer GIS, Cairns Regional Council said, “The innovative new raster engine and MRR file format in MapInfo Pro Advanced has dramatically improved our productivity and throughput when working with raster data. The speed and performance when working with these huge data sets is second to none. The user friendly interface allows our staff to change styles and settings on the fly and background processing enables staff to continue working while complex tasks are processing.”

“Today, companies are facing a competitive and continuously changing business landscape. In this context, the performance of companies depends more than ever on their flexibility, adaptability and responsiveness. New technological possibilities have the potential to transform the way companies operate within their respective industries with long-term gains in efficiency, productivity and customer loyalty,” Australian Business Awards Program Director, Ms Tara Johnston, said.

“Each year the ABA100 Winners are recognised for their commitment to business and product innovation and for their achievements in transforming business practices and end user experiences.

“The Australian Business Awards are proud to acknowledge the role of these leading corporate, government and non-government organisations for implementing innovative, well-managed high-performing business initiatives and for the research and development of their innovative products and services,” Ms Johnston added.
