How to set the normal preset on the DM500, DM800i and more

Normal presets are the default conditions on your meter that you define with your most commonly used values, such as postage rates and class. These normal preset values will then be the default state on your mailing system when it is first powered on or after it awakens from "sleep" mode. The Postal Class setting, in addition to identifying your mail type, helps automate the preset process for future rate data changes. You can set the class according to your needs, such as a domestic standard letter, USA letter other, Parcel.

Follow these steps to create a Normal Preset:

1. Press Class to choose a class
2. Select a class of mail - select Letterpost
3. Select Dom standard
4. Press Enter​​
5. Confirm that the screen now shows the correct class: Letterpost Dom Standard
6. Press Custom Preset
7. Press the right arrow
8. Select Store Current Setting to Preset
9. Select 0. Normal
10. Review the preset settings and press Enter
11. You will be returned to the Home screen. Your preset is now ready to use.
