How to remove funds on the the DM400, DM500 and more

Products affected: DM400™, DM500™, DM550™, DM800™, DM800i™, DM900™, DM1000™, and DM1100™
Important: Do not perform these steps unless a new meter is replacing your existing one, or your have been advised by a Pitney Bowes representative to perform this task.

If you cannot connect to the Pitney Bowes Data Center through your meter, or if you have a blank screen, you may not be able to transfer the funds to your account. Contact us to arrange a return of the defective meter to Pitney Bowes, and the funds will be credited to your account. It may take up to four to six weeks after Pitney Bowes receives the meter.*

Follow these steps to remove (withdraw) funds from a DM400--DM1100:
  1. Press Menu
  2. Scroll and select Setup
  3. Scroll and select Take Meter Out of Service
When you successfully take your meter out of service, the machine will display, Out of Service, and the remaining funds will show:  $0.00.

NOTE: Once funds have been removed from the defective meter, they will then be transferred back to your original funding source.
