How to resolve accounting period ended on the DM400, DM500 and more

Products affected: DM400™, DM500™, DM550™, DM800™, DM800i™, DM900™, DM1000™, DM1100™, DM Infinity™, Budget Manager, and INVIEW®


The meter says Accounting Period Ended, and mail can not be run.


The end of the accounting period has been reached.


To resolve Accounting Period Ended follow these steps:
  1. Press Menu
  2. Select Set Up
  3. Select Accounting Set Up
  4. Select Accounting Period
  5. Select Fiscal Year Start
  6. Type in the start date of your fiscal year
Note:  You can enter a start date that is within the current year. For example, if today's date is 1/20/2015, you can enter a start date back to 1/20/2015. When you enter the year, be sure to enter the full 4-digit year (eg., 2015 or 2016)
  1. Press Enter to save the date
  2. Select Number of Periods
  3. If you need a custom period, press Page Down and select Custom period. Go to step 12.
  4. Select the number periods for your fiscal year. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list, if necessary
  5. If you select one of the preset periods, press Enter to return to the Accounting Set Up menu, then press the left arrow key to exit the set up
  6. You can set up two custom periods. The start date for both periods is the date you activate the custom periods. You cannot change the start date.
  7. Select End Date 1 to set the end date for the first custom period. Key in the date and press Enter.
  8. Select End Date 2 and set the end date for the second custom period. The end date for the second period must always be the same as, or after the end date for the first period.
  9. Press Enter
  10. Press the left arrow button to return to the Main screen
