Troubleshooting envelope sealing issues with the DM100i

If your envelopes are not sealing, this could be due to a few different factors. Try these troubleshooting steps to fix the issue with your meter: 

Incorrect Feeding

  • The envelope flap must be under the blue edge of the feed deck. If not, the moistener cannot wet the flap

Low Sealant Level

  • Check the sight glass on the moistener tank
  • If the sealant level is low, add E-Z Seal solution until it reaches the bottom of the fill hole 

Dry Moistener Brush

  • Remove the moistener brush
  • Clean in plain water and rinse thoroughly
  • In the brush dries out quickly, replace the moistener wick. Re-order # 946-1 from the Pitney Bowes Supply Line at 1-800-672-6937

Worn Moistener Brush

  • Replace the moistener brush and wick service kit
  • Order # 946-1 from the Pitney Bowes Supply Line at 1-800-672-6937
