Pitney Bowes - a global leader in Location Intelligence solutions - has announced the launch of MapInfo Professional v12.0, the latest release of the company’s flagship application for professional mapping and analysis.

MapInfo Professional v12.0 makes it even easier to create great looking maps with significant cartographic output improvements including new labelling capabilities. Stacey Grant, Product Manager, Pitney Bowes Software says “Early feedback from users has been sensational, with some wondering what to do with all the time freed up by the enhancements. One user said they make up to 500 maps per year with heavy use of labelling and they cannot even fathom the amount of time they’re going to save with the new label features.”

Tony Jordan, Senior GIS Technician, Fraser Coast Regional Council adds, “As a long time user of MapInfo Professional for over 15 years, it really is fantastic to see the cartographic improvements in v12.0. The new labelling, scale bar and legend improvements will make it so much easier for our organisation to produce high quality map output that reflects and displays clean data well. ”

“The enhancements in this latest release of MapInfo Professional reflect our commitment to the MapInfo user community.  We want to help them reach new levels of efficiency and deliver improvements based on user feedback. The primary goal of this release is to help our users easily and quickly create high-quality map output. GIS professionals and Location Intelligence analysts will be able to work smarter, not harder,” said Simon Bird, General Manager, Australia and New Zealand, Pitney Bowes Software.
