On screen message: 0205410042 Recoverable Error POWER_STACKER_DISCONNECTED_ERROR The Power Stacker MCP was disconnected unexpectedly during the mail run. Problem is intermittent, prevalent during heating season, low humidity conditions. Static buildup discharges through USB cable interrupting the connection. Connection can be reestablished by removing USB cable and reconnecting it or by rebooting the system. (See attached detail.).

If possible prevent static buildup, increase humidity. To mitigate the static buildup and subsequent discharge through the USB cable the static brush at printer exit may need to be lowered closer to the exiting mailpieces. The brush should not be lowered to the point of interfering with the mailpiece movement. Contact with mail will also wear the brush away in a short period. The intent of the static brush is absorb the static on the mailpieces before it reaches the stacker, sending the charge to ground. Optimum positioning can not always be obtained due the the variety of mail thickness. In extreme cases where adjusting the exit static brush does not fully resolve the issue it is possible to provide an alternate path to ground with a static on the stacker deck itself. Order 2 each Static brush, F372328. Attach a wire the brushes connected in series, attach the wire to the copper ground tabs accessed under deck, mount brushes between the conveyor belts.

Proven at other sites experiencing stacker disconnects.
