A preset is a snapshot of franking machine settings that are most commonly used.  To create a new franking machine preset, you first need to decide the desired settings for the preset on your franking machine: carrier, class, mail type, envelope message.

Your system has a Normal Preset (the settings you use most often) which is accessed by pressing the Normal Preset key. It also has the ability to store up to 5 Custom Presets which are accessed by pressing the Custom Presets key and choosing the desired preset from the menu.

Before you create a new custom preset, first select the desired settings on your franking machine:
  1. From the Home screen, select CLASS and select the options that you wish to be saved as a preset:
    • Carrier
    • Class
    • Mail type (Letter, Large Letter, etc)
    • Ad (Envelope Message)
    • Text message
  2. The franking machine returns to the Home screen. The Home screen now displays the Class and mail type that you selected, as well as the price.
  3. To select an Ad (custom Envelope Message):
    1. From the Home screen, press Page Down
    2. Select AD.
    3. Select Select an Ad.
    4. Scroll through your ads to select one from the list, or type in the ad number and press Enter.
  4. To select an Text Message:
    1. From the Home screen, press Page Down
    2. Select TEXT.
    3. Select an existing text message, or create a new one.

To save these values as the franking machine's default settings (the default state when the franking machine is first powered on, and after it wakes from sleep mode), see How to set or change the "Normal Preset" on the DM100-DM200 and DM110i-DM220i.

To create a new Custom Preset:
  1. Press the Custom Presets key.
  2. Select Define New Preset.
  3. When prompted to confirm if the current values are correct, select YES: store preset.
  4. Using the keypad enter a name (up to 12 characters). To use letters, repeatedly press the appropriate number key until the desired letter displays.
  5. Select OK when done.
  6. Select Continue. The new values are saved and the Custom Preset menu displays.
  7. Press Home to return Home screen.
To view and select saved Custom Presets:
  1. Press the Custom Presets key.
  2. Select Select Preset. The franking machine lists all presets currently saved on the franking machine. Press the Page Down key to see additional choices (if available).
  3. Select the desired preset.  The franking machine confirms the Account, Class, Mail type, and (on the next page) Ad.
  4. Press Home to return to the Home screen.
  5. Press the Normal Preset key to return the franking machine to your default setting.
