Obtaining a Royal Mail franking licence

All franking machine users must have a valid franking licence issued by Royal Mail.

Pitney Bowes will apply to Royal Mail on your behalf to licence your franking machine.

The licence, which will be posted to you by Royal Mail, includes:

  • User’s name and address
  • Name and number of the Model of the Franking Equipment
  • The serial number of the Franking Equipment (Meter)
  • Unique die number
  • You must inform Pitney Bowes if you change your address or Company name; we will then advise Royal Mail who will issue you with a new licence.

Further details of the terms and conditions of your franking licence can be obtained from Royal Mail.
