Obtaining a Royal Mail franking licence

Information on how a Royal Mail franking licence is issued

All franking machine users must have a valid franking licence issued by Royal Mail. Pitney Bowes will apply to Royal Mail on your behalf to licence your franking machine.

The licence, which will be posted to you by Royal Mail, includes:

User’s name and address
Name and number of the Model of the Franking Equipment
The serial number of the Franking Equipment (Meter)
Unique die number

Note: You must inform Pitney Bowes of any changes to the company name or address; we will then advise Royal Mail who will issue a new licence.
