USPS® regulations require that your meter be inspected periodically. This inspection occurs automatically when you connect your meter to the Pitney Bowes Data Center to refill postage or perform a balance inquiry. If no connection is made within a 90 day period, your meter displays the message
Inspection Due and then
Inspection Required.
Before you beginMake sure that your meter is connected to access the Pitney Bowes Data Center using a SmartLink device, PC Meter Connect, a Communication Device or a dial-up phone connection.
Solution 1
- Press Enter/Yes when your meter connects to the Pitney Bowes Data Center.
- Press Enter/Yes when your meter shows your balances.
- Press No when your meter display asks Would you like to refill postage?.
- Your meter connects to the Data Center and completes the inspection before returning to your Home screen.
If your message does not clear, try Solution 2.
Solution 2
- Press Funds.
- Press Review (down arrow) twice.
- Press Enter/Yes when your screen displays Check amt available to download?.
- Press Enter/Yes when your balances display.
- Press No when your meter displays Would you like to refill postage?.
- Your meter connects to the Data Center and complete the inspection before returning to your Home screen.
