"Inspection Due" or "Inspection Required" message on the DM300C-DM475

USPS® regulations require that your meter be inspected periodically. This inspection occurs automatically whenever you refill your meter with postage or when your system connects to the Data Center to perform a balance inquiry.

Before you begin
Make sure that your system is connected to access the Pitney Bowes Data Center using a SmartLink device, PC Meter Connect, a USB Ethernet Connectivity Kit, or a WiFi Connection Device.

Solution 1
  1. Select Connect now
  2. Select Continue.
  3. Select Download Now if you get prompted to download updates for your meter. 
  4. Select Return Home to return to your Home screen after your updates get installed.
If your issue is not resolved, try Solution 2.
 
Solution 2
  1. If the Inspection Due message appears and Connect now options do not display on your screen: 
    1. Press the Refill Postage button.
    2. Select Check PBP Balance. Your meter connects to the Pitney Bowes Data Center and displays your available balance.
  2. Select Continue.
  3. Select Download Now if you get prompted to download updates for your meter. 
  4. Select Return Home to return to your Home screen after your updates get installed.
