Two things that is important to keep in mind with this custom HP Power software setup at ADC.
- The HP R3000 (UPS1- bottom) is totally in charge of the power for both the DC server and the DFWorks server. If power is lost to the UPS1 or the battery fails, the second UPS, will not take over or even know about the two servers. UPS2 is just a “dumb” UPS acting as a 2nd power source.
- DFWorks has the HP Power “Agent” software installed and is dependent on the DC server with the HP Power “Server” software to communicate with the UPS#1. If for any reason there is a red “X” on either DC server or DFWorks Server battery icon in the tray, please investigate. If systems are reboot it may take up to 5 minutes for icon to show the Green check mark to appear.
