How to change the print head on the DM500, DM525, and more
Products affected: DM500™, DM525™, DM550™, DM575™, DM800™, DM800i™, DM825™, DM875™, DM900™, DM925™, DM1000™, and DM1100™
IMPORTANT! Make sure you have the replacement print head before beginning this procedure. This procedure cannot be cancelled once it has begun. 
- Press Menu
- Select Maintenance
- Select Replace Print head
- Lift the main cover
- Slide print head latch to the left and pull forward as seen in (1) in picture
- Hold the latch in place and pull front panel forward as seen in (2) in the picture
- Lift print head cover toward the rear
- Holding print head handle, lift print head straight up. Make sure the back of the print head does not rub against the pins (connectors) in the rear of the casing.
- Remove new print head from the package
- Remove protective cover from the new print head
- Insert new print head into the holder
- Close the print head cover
- Push front panel back until it clicks into place. Do this two times to ensure a good connection for the ink to flow properly.
- Close the main cover of the machine
