How to add postage to a DM500, DM800, DM1000 and more

Note: In order to add postage to your meter, you must have funds available in your Reserve Account or USPS® prepaid account, or be using Purchase Power®. For more information, see Paying for Postage.

To add or refill postage to your meter, follow these steps:
  1. Press Funds.
  2. Select Quick Refill, or select Other Refill Amount and enter the desired amount.
  3. Press Enter.
  4. Press Enter again to accept the dollar amount.
  5. The meter will connect to the Data Center.
  6. Once successful, the meter will display Refill Successful.
  7. The meter prompts you to enter a receipt option:
    • To print a receipt on tape, select Tape.
    • To print a receipt on an envelope, select Start.
    • If you do not want to print a receipt, select Don't Print Receipt.
Note: The meter will check for available software downloads. It is recommended to download any pending downloads.
  1. You will be returned to the Home screen.
