At 60% zoom fonts are displayed jaggedy by Mgr2.4.3 viewer at 300dpi.
The same setup on 2.1 release, it looks good. From engineering:
The problem is due to the smooth-scaling algorithm was changed to exclude transparent source pixels from the calculations. This stops the grey border round the edge of images but also changes the appearance of the viewer output by making text appear thinner.
Additional Information (added 18th of April 2016)
This can be fixed by forcing the page bitmap to be OPAQUE before scaling it. The issue is fix from PI Output Manager 2.4.5 and 2.5.1.
- Component fix is VPAJava.dll.
- This is in two types: \bin\VPAJAVA.dll (is recommended when running PI Output Manager in 32bit OS) and \bin\x64\VPAJAVA.dll (is for running PI Output Manager in 64bit OS). If it is preferred to fix the issue by just applying a component, it is recommended to copy over these two VPAJAVA.dll in correct folder.
- Always backup the old files before applying any fix.
Subject: MGR2.4.3 viewer displays the job blocky, while MGR2.1 shown the job in better quality
Initial Details: Job is in X:\Asterion-Int\04037551 At 60 zoom fonts are displayed jaggedy by Mgr2.4.3 viewer at 300dpi. The same setup on 2.1 release, it looks good. See illustration (MGR2.*.png screen captures) of the issue in X:\Asterion-Int\04037551\misc-Emtex. Now that customer is not receiving patches, what release would contain the fix for this case? More information from the customer after this line..... This used to be the settings of Option - > Medium image in older versions. Now a smooth image in 2.4.3 looks like a view of Medium image. Operators find it very troubling that the quality is so bad in viewer. Please get back the smooth edition in Viewer of 2.4.3
