PassTHRU jobs will go through P/I® Output Manager (MGR) intact.
Normally when a job is submitted through MGR, it will be converted to MGR's format called Virtual Dynamic Data (VDD). The VDD will be accessed when applying VDE or P/I® Output Enhancement by an Output Client to create the format of user's chosen output device.
A PassTHRU job will be processed in MGR without any conversion. A virtual wrapper will be applied on top to facilitate the sides and pages of the particular job.
To setup the environment to handle PassTHRU jobs via MGR, it is required to have the mandatory component of MGR:
- Input Client
- Output Client
- Set file
Input Client (PASS-IN) must have the following commands:
CLIENTTYPE = IPCCLN_PASS2VDD CLIENTNAME=PASS LISTENID=6032
Output Client (PASS-OUT):
LIENTTYPE = VDD2PASSPS CHANNELTYPE = ADDI
Profile (a sample):
TYPE = PSPASSTHRU DATATYPE = DISK DATA_SOURCE = TEST.PS SET = c:\MGR\sample.set VIPFILE = PASSTHRU INPUT = PASS-IN OUTPUT = PASS-OUT HOLDOUTPUT = YES HOLDVDD = NO OUTPUTTYPE = FILE OUTPUTEXTENSION = PS OUTPUTDIRECTORY = c:\output OUTPUTFILENAME = PASS_%J_
