Content Author is being installed on a Windows 64-bit operating system. Therefore, the supporting SQL installation files need to also be 64-bit.

Error: Product: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Management Objects -- Setup is missing an installation prerequisite: -Microsoft SQL Server 2008 System CLR Types. To continue, install SQL Server System CLR Types from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=116207 and then run the Setup operation again
Install CLR Types from the Microsoft website:http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26728
Click the download button, then select the file 1033\x64\SQLSysClrTypes.msi (64-bit). Download and install it.
Get the Management objects: 1033\x64\SharedManagementObjects.msi (64-bit) and install it.
Check the IIS Settings to make sure the App Pool for the CCMContentAuthor website (DefaultAppPool) has .NET v4.0 and Enable 32-bit Applications selected.
As an example, if SQL is version 2008 R2, then the support SQL files (e.g. CLR Types & Management Objects) MUST match the SQL 2008 R2 version!
