When trying to refill meters through DFWorks Funds Management, the refill fails with a PbP Center Error334 (the pb task can not continue to process a message from the data center because there was an error in the http sent from the data center).
The error code means that the meter and the Postage by Phone center are not communicating properly. This will be due to a network or firewall change that will not allow inbound/outbound messages.
Access to the Postage by Phone center is needed to perform meter refills through the DFWorks application. To do so, access through the client’s firewall to cometservp1.pb.com over port 80 inbound/outbound is a requirement.
For customers that cannot use a URL name in their firewall, they will need to enter all of the following addresses:
The DFWorks server acts as a “proxy” between the meter and the Postage by Phone center. Although access to the PbP center will be achieved through the “Client Segment” (Client’s network/IP Address), the HTTP Host Header will show the IP address of the DFWorks server as seen by the meter (10.10.10.102) in the firewall logs. This IP address may be considered non-routable for some IT organizations. To ensure Funds Management functionality, an exception must be made.
|URL Name||IP Address||IP Address|| || |

DFWorks Funds network traffic is sent in ASP "chunks". Therefore set the generic http protocol profile to enable "chunk bypass" on HTTP.
Below is an example of network traffic captured during the Funds Refill process:
POST /t3cometserver.asp HTTP/1.1
Customer IT teams should verify that their firewalls are set to allow this network traffic in and out of the network.
