PIOM already logged in Message

Issue

PIOM already logged in messages in appear when logging into User Interface.  The system.log contains the following Error Message:
E029020 VIPEXEC - Client id _IV_BD1C0F2AE8B0EEFD9E88AB72C8CF4520 already in use
Operations session locked up. They shutdown and restarted, but the ID is still "in use".

Cause

From the Admin UDF:

[OPEN_WINDOWS]
INFORMATION_MANAGER
JOB_QUEUE_MANAGER
INPUT_CLIENTS
OUTPUT_CLIENTS
CONTROL
SYSTEM_CLIENTS
_iv_bd1c0f2ae8b0eefd9e88ab72c8cf4520

The last entry here is one of the "Right click, VIEW JOB" client ID's.  It is retained in the UDF list of Open Windows, and this therefore attempting to be started when you login.


 

Resolution

E029020 VIPEXEC - Client id _IV_BD1C0F2AE8B0EEFD9E88AB72C8CF4520 already in use

This message happens at Login. Selecting continue or Ok allows their Login to complete.

Deleting the UDF file when the user is not logged into the system will resolve this. A new UDF is created from system defaults when one does not exist at login time.
