Handheld scanner used with SendSuite Tracking Online, SendSuite Tracking, or SendPro Enterprise will not scan in direct sunlight

If a handheld scanner will not scan in direct sunlight, you can change settings in DataWedge to allow scans in direct sunlight.
Products affected: SendSuite® Tracking, SendSuite® Tracking Online, SendPro® Enterprise

Issue

A handheld scanner used with SendSuite Tracking Online, SendSuite Tracking, or SendPro Enterprise will not scan in direct sunlight.

Resolution

Change the settings in DataWedge to allow scans in direct sunlight:

  1. Go to the Widget screen on the device and choose DataWedge.
  2. Choose the profile that is being used for the device software, e.g. PB.SSM or PB.SSTO.
  3. Go to Reader Parameters.
  4. Turn off Illumination mode.
  5. Select hardware.
  6. Save the changes.
  7. Test the device.
