Frequently Asked Questions
Is the DM60 suitable for my business?
If you are looking for a quick and easy way to manage your mail that can save you time and money while projecting a more professional image - then the DM60 small office franking machine is for you. It's cost effective and easy to use, with a range of different options - and with a Pitney Bowes online account you can pay for your postage in arrears on a single monthly invoice, payable by direct debit.
What's included in the 30 day free trial?
Your free trial machine comes complete with a starter pack containing an ink cartridge, 25 labels and 5 metered mail envelopes. You only pay for the postage and any additional consumable you use during the trial.
What happens if I want to cancel?
If you are not completely satisfied, simply let us know within the trial period. We'll pick the equipment up at our cost, terminate the agreement and refund any additional unused postage (excluding any free postage credit). Please call us on 08444 992 992.
When will I start paying for the machine?
Your monthly payments will start approximately but not before, 30 days after you take receipt of the equipment.
Are there any hidden charges?
No. As long as you continue to pay the monthly rental amount by direct debit there are no additional charges other than your postage and consumables. If you order your DM60 franking machine online you won’t pay any postage refill fees either, saving you even more. Please refer to the full terms and conditions for late payment charges.
How does an online PurchasePower account work?
An online PurchasePower account allows you to put the monthly machine rental, postage that you download and any consumable you order from us - on a single monthly bill - payable in arrears by direct debit.
What can I frank with a DM60?
The DM60 can be used to post most items, including:
- First Class
- Second Class
- Recorded Delivery
- Special Delivery
- ParcelForce Worldwide Services
- International / Airmail
You can also use franked impressions to pay for lots of other Royal Mail services such as Business Collections and one-off collections.
Is there a minimum or maximum amount that I can frank?
No, there are no restrictions on minimum or maximum postage volumes. All the postage discounts that you get for franked mail are on a per item basis, so no matter how much or how little you send - you qualify for discounts on your post.
What about mail being sent abroad?
Mail being sent abroad can be sent in the same way as UK mail. Please remember, if you are sending parcels you need to mark them as such and add an Air Mail sticker (available free from the Post Office) and a Customs Declaration form if the item is being sent outside the E.U. (again - available from the Post Office free of charge).
How do I frank Parcels
The DM60 small office franking machine will print directly onto envelopes or you can print onto franking labels available from Pitney Bowes direct. Simply print the label and stick onto your parcel or packet.
How do I post parcels?
You will need to deliver these to your local Post Office. The Post Office will provide colour coded bags (free of charge for 1st Class, 2nd Class and International mail) to place your parcels and mail into. Most Post Offices have an area where you can deposit these without having to queue. Please check with your local Post Office for further details.
I have Recorded/Special Delivery mail - do I have to take this to the Post Office?
Yes - you will have to hand these over to the counter staff at your local Post Office as they have to log receipt of the item/s for you.
What time can I download postage to my DM60?
Our data centre is open 6 days a week between 7.00am and 8.00pm.
What happens if I make a mistake - can I get my postage back?
Yes. Don't post the item. Remove the contents and start again with a new envelope. Send any unused prints to Royal Mail and as long as the total claim is for at least £10.00 and all the impressions are clear and readable and made within six months of the date, you will get a refund.
Please send the full envelope bearing the unused impression to:
Royal Mail Franking
Stone Hill Road
Or call Royal Mail on 08457 740740
You will get a cheque refund for the value of the unused impressions minus a 15% administration fee charge.
