“No printer detected” message or error 1E44 on the Connect+ Series and SendPro P

Learn how to resolve “No printer detected” on the Connect+ series and SendPro P.

Issue

When using the SendPro Shipping app on the Connect+ Series / SendPro P, the error message “No printer detected” or the error 1E44  displays and your meter cannot connect to the Datamax W1110, Brother QL-1050 printer or Brother QL-1100.

Cause

  • The wrong label size was selected.
  • Your meter lost its connection to your printer.

Resolution

To resolve communication issues between your meter and your printer:

  1. Check your label size
  2. Refresh your meter’s USB connections
  3. Do not use a USB hub
  4. Try another USB port
  5. Restart your meter

Solution 1: Check your label size

When creating a label on the SendPro Shipping app Print-Preview screen:

  1. Tap Print.
  2. Ensure that you select the 4x6 label size.

If this does not resolve your issue, try Solution 2.

Solution 2: Refresh your meter's USB connections

  1. Return to the Home screen.
  2. Tap Settings (under the Mailing app).
  3. Tap Hardware.
  4. Tap External Printers.
  5. Tap Refresh Printers.
  6. Try printing your shipping label again.

If this does not resolve your issue, try Solution 3.

Solution 3: Do not use a USB hub

  1. If using a USB hub for the label printer, remove the printer USB cable from the hub and plug it directly into a USB port in the meter. If there are no available USB ports on the meter, move one USB device from the meter to the USB hub.
  2. Connect the printer directly to a USB port on the meter.

Solution 4: Try another USB port

Try a different USB port on the back of the meter.

Solution 5: Restart your meter

  1. Unplug the USB cable from your printer .
  2. Select the gear from the lower right corner of the Home screen.
  3. Select Shut Down.
  4. Select Shut Down from the pop-up dialog box.
  5. Wait for the screen to turn off and the power button (blue light on the front) to turn off.
  6. Wait 10 seconds.
  7. Press the power button to turn your meter back on.
  8. Once your meter powers up, plug in your printer.
