Obtaining an An Post franking licence

Information on how a franking machine licence will be issued from An Post.
All franking machine users must have a valid franking licence issued by An Post.

Pitney Bowes will apply to An Post on your behalf to licence your franking machine. This will be issued to you via post from An Post. 

The licence includes:
  • User’s name and address
  • Name and number of the Model of the Franking Equipment
  • The serial number of the Franking Equipment (Meter)
  • Unique die number
You must inform Pitney Bowes if you change your address or Company name; we will then advise An Post who will issue you with a new licence.
