Troubleshooting insertion stalls on the Relay 5000-8000

Learn how to recognize and resolve insertion stalls on the Relay 5000, Relay 6000, Relay 7000 and Relay 8000.
Products affected: Relay™ 5000, Relay™ 6000, Relay™ 7000, Relay™ 8000

Issue

The folded material only inserts into one side of the envelope and runs into the other side.

Cause

The envelope openers or insert tray side guides are not adjusted correctly.

To correct insertion stalls:
  1. Adjust the envelope openers.
  2. Adjust the sheet feeder side guides to within 1/8 inch (3mm) of the material.
  3. Adjust the insert feeder side guides to within 1/8 inch (3mm) of the material.
  4. Adjust the high capacity envelope feeder side guides to within 1/8 (3mm) inch of the material.
