Remove the sheet feeder trays - lift the rear of the tray slightly and pull it straight out from the inserter.
If the tray is loaded, gently hold the material in place to prevent it sliding forward as the tray is removed.
Remove the jammed material. If necessary, use the manual advance knob to move the material forward.NOTE: Avoid pulling pages backwards out of the machine, towards the sheet feeder. It is better to clear sheet feeder jams by moving material forward and removing it from the accumulator area.
- Replace the sheet feeder trays:
- Place the tray into its location guides in the side frames.
- Lift the rear of the tray slightly and push it into the inserter. The tray automatically drops into its correct position.
Tap the Clear Deck button to clear the paper path of any remaining material.
- Tap the Start button to resume operation.
Once you locate the jammed material, you may need to use the manual advance knob to manually feed paper out of the grip of feed rollers.
The manual advance knob is located behind the drop-down cover at the left front of the inserter.
