Updating the software version on the DM300C

Make sure that your system is connected using SmartLink™, PC Meter Connect, local area network connection (LAN) or an analog phone line to communicate with the Pitney Bowes Data Centre.

Using Smartlink™
Unless a lock code is enabled, meters that are always powered on and connected via SmartLink™ get updated automatically.

If you use a lock code, unlock the meter and follow these steps to update your meter:
  1. Press C to go to the Home screen.
  2. Press Refill Postage.
  3. Select Check PBP balance.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. Select Get Update Now.
  6. At prompt System Update Complete, select Restart Now.
  • Your meter restarts
  • Your screen displays the message installing updates
  • Do not remove the power
  • When your updates are installed, your meter initializes
  1. Select Connect now when the screen displays Connection Required.
  2. At prompt System Update Complete, select Return Home.


Using PC Meter Connect™, a local area network connection (LAN), or an analog phone line (that is not shared with a fax or other device)
  1. Press C to go to the Home screen.
  2. Press Refill Postage.
  3. Select Check PBP balance.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. Select Get Update Now.
  6. At prompt System Update Complete, select Restart Now:
  • Your meter restarts
  • Your screen displays the message installing updates
  • Do not remove the power
  • When your updates are installed, your meter initializes
  1. Select Connect now when the screen displays Connection Required.
  2. At prompt System Update Complete, select Return Home.
