Managing roles in PitneyShip Pro, PitneyTrack Inbound, PitneyAnalytics, and the Locker Management Module

You can create different roles to define the tasks that users are allowed to perform. Each user is assigned a role.

You can create different roles to define the tasks that users are allowed to perform. Each user is assigned a role.

Adding roles

  1. Select Settings > Roles.
  2. To create a new role, select + Add Subscription Role.
    OR
    To copy and edit an existing role, select the Duplicate Subscription Role icon next to it.

  3. Enter a Display Name for the role.
  4. (Optional) Enter a Description of the role.
  5. (Optional) Select a Role Templates Feature Filter on which to base this role.
  6. Select the Features you want users with this role to be able to perform. Scroll down to see all features. Scroll to the right to see all of the feature categories.

  7. Select Save and Close.

Editing roles

If you need to change the name or features of a subscription role, you can edit it.

  1. Select Settings > Roles.
  2. Select the Edit icon next to the role you wish to edit.

    Note: The ADMIN role is a pre-defined system default role and cannot be edited. This pre-defined role is also subject to change with system updates. It is recommended to create a new role in place of the pre-defined system roles to avoid any unwanted changes to a user's daily functionality.
  3. Make the needed changes.
  4. Select Save and Close.

Deleting roles

If you no longer need a role, you can delete it.

  1. Select Settings > Roles.
  2. Select the Delete icon next to the role you wish to delete.

    Note: You cannot delete the USER and ADMIN roles, or your own role. For these roles, the delete icon will not be present. Instead there will be a View icon so that you can view the role's settings.

  3. When prompted to confirm that you want to delete the role, select Delete.

The features and options you see may vary depending upon your role and subscription. If you have any questions regarding your permissions, please contact your administrator.
