Products affected: PitneyTrack® Inbound

These settings define the appearance of printed labels and the layout of the Save and Print buttons.

  1. Select Settings > Receiving Label Options (under Receiving).
  2. If necessary, select your Site.
  3. Select the Desktop Printer (Web) or Mobile Printer (Bluetooth) tab. Settings must be configured separately for each.
    Desktop and mobile tabs
  4. Make the desired changes as explained in the sections below.
  5. Save your changes:
    • If you are using PitneyTrack Inbound or PitneyTrack Asset, select the Update Settings button at the top to save your changes.
    • If you are using PitneyTrack Enterprise, select Save Settings, select the sites where you want to apply your changes to and select Update # Site(s) or Update All Sites.

Set up the Save and Print buttons

Your selections below will impact the following:

  • The layout of the buttons you will see on the screens for each workflow.
  • The function of the Enter key when using the keyboard, which will trigger selection on the Select most frequently used action menu.

Note: Wedge Scanner devices are often programmed with the Enter key to append to the end of a scan. Because it is appended, it triggers the Enter key as if when you selected the Enter key on the keyboard, causing the site to perform the Most Frequently Used Action. Reprogram your wedge scanner to use the Tab key instead of Enter when processing packages on the Desktop (Web) application to avoid mistakenly using the Most Frequently Used Action and inadvertently saving the package without completing the package details.

  1. Under Configure buttons for your Desktop and Mobile printers, from the Receive Packages, Edit Packages and Deliver Packages menus, select the action buttons you wish to use in each workflow:
    • Check the Save box to enable the Save button.
    • Check the Save & Print box to enable the Save & Print button.
  2. Under Select Most Frequent Used Action, choose which is the default action that occurs when you press the Enter key on the keyboard.
  3. (Optional) Hover over the Preview button to view how your selections will appear in each of the screens.

Set up the printed label options

Your selections in this section control the label size and what information is printed on labels.

  1. Under Design label for desktop printer or Design label for mobile printer, select the Select label size you wish to print.
  2. (Optional) Change the Label name if desired. This is the text that prints at the top of the label.
  3. (Optional) Select Show Pitney Bowes Logo to show the Pitney Bowes logo on the label.
  4. Under Choose fields to print on label, check or uncheck the boxes to select the fields you want to print on the label.
  5. In the Rearrange label fields section, you can further customize the appearance of the label. As you make changes, the preview automatically updates to show how the label will look.
    1. To change the order of the fields on the label, use the drag icons to drag them up or down.
      Drag icon
    2. To remove the field label (for example, "Recipient"), uncheck the Show Label box.
    3. To change the font size for a field, choose an option in the Size column.
      • Sizes for Desktop Printer (Web) labels:
        • Small: 11 pt.
        • Medium: 16 pt.
        • Large: 20 pt.
        • Custom: Enter a value between 11 and 180 pt.
      • Sizes for Mobile Printer (Bluetooth) labels:
        • Small: 9 pt.
        • Medium: 12 pt.
        • Large: 18 pt.
        • Custom: Enter a value between 9 and 180 pt.
    4. To change the font style, select either Regular or Bold in the Style column.
    5. Under Choose how fields details are arranged on the label, select how you want the field labels and their values to be aligned.
      • Two columns: The field label is left-aligned and the field values start in the same place so that they are all aligned. 30% of the label shows the label fields on the left and 70% shows the value of that field.
      • Compact: The field labels are left-aligned and the field values start immediately after the colon (:), so they are not aligned.
  6. Repeat for the other tab (Desktop Printer (Web) or Mobile Printer (Bluetooth)) if needed.
  7. Save your changes: If you are using PitneyTrack Inbound or PitneyTrack Asset, select the Update Settings button at the top to save your changes. If you are using PitneyTrack Enterprise, select Save Settings, select the sites where you want to apply your changes to and select Update # Site(s) or Update All Sites.
