PitneyAnalytics Release Notes version 1.123.0 (April 1, 2026)
What's New
Surcharge Rule for Rating Class Name
A new Rating Class Name condition has been added to Surcharge Rules, giving clients greater control over how additional surcharges are applied to shipments. This enhancement allows clients to create surcharge rules based on carrier‑defined rating‑class fees, such as those applied by USPS, FedEx, and other carriers, and layer their own percentage‑based or fixed‑amount surcharges on top.
The new condition supports equals and not‑equals logic, multi‑select rating‑class values, activation and deactivation during rule editing, and full visibility within existing surcharge lists and search criteria. Existing surcharge rules remain unchanged, while the added flexibility enables more precise cost recovery aligned with individual shipping cost models and business requirements.
Surcharge Calculation Based on Base or Total Amount
Users now have greater flexibility in how surcharges are calculated during shipment processing. In addition to calculating surcharges on the Base Amount (base postage), users can now choose to apply surcharges based on the Total Amount (total postage). A new calculation‑basis option has been added to the Add Surcharge Rule screen, allowing users to select their preferred method. Existing surcharge rules remain unchanged and continue to default to Base Amount when edited, ensuring backward compatibility while enabling more accurate surcharge application when needed.
Induction Scan Filter and Column in Shipment Detail Report
The Shipment Detail Report has been enhanced with a new Induction Scan calendar filter and a Carrier Induction Scan column to improve shipment tracking and reporting accuracy. Users can now filter shipments based on the carrier induction scan date, in addition to existing date options, enabling more precise analysis of shipment activity. The default behavior remains unchanged and continues to use Created on as the default filter. The new Carrier Induction Scan column is available in the report output but is not selected by default, allowing users to include it as needed. These enhancements are supported across Excel and CSV exports, as well as scheduled reports delivered via Email and SFTP, ensuring consistency across all reporting workflows.
Email Notifications for Successful SFTP Report Delivery
SFTP report delivery notifications have been enhanced to give users greater visibility into report status. In addition to existing failure notifications, users can now choose to receive email notifications when an SFTP report is successfully delivered. A new optional setting Also notify recipients when the export completes successfully has been added to the SFTP configuration. This option is disabled by default to preserve existing behavior and can be enabled as needed, providing users with clear confirmation when scheduled reports are uploaded successfully.
Latest Updates
Accurate Surcharge Calculation and Refunds for Multi‑Piece Shipments
Surcharge calculation and refund handling have been enhanced for multi‑piece shipments to improve accuracy and consistency. Both percentage‑based and fixed‑value surcharges are now applied only to the parent parcel, preventing duplicate charges across child parcels while still honoring defined surcharge conditions. In addition, when a label for a multi‑piece shipment is refunded, the system now automatically refunds the associated surcharge applied to the parent parcel. This ensures consistent financial reconciliation and resolves previous inconsistencies in surcharge calculation and refunds for multi‑piece shipments.
