Updating Canada Post rates on the DM300C

Learn how to update Canada post rates on the DM300C.
Products affected: DM300C™ (G910)
Make sure that your system is connected using a SmartLink™ device, PC Meter Connect™ or local area network connection (LAN) to communicate with the Pitney Bowes Data Centre.

Using Smartlink

Unless a lock code is enabled, meters that are always powered on and connected via a SmartLink device get updated automatically.
If you use a lock code, unlock your meter and follow these steps to update your meter:
  1. Press C to go to the Home screen.
  2. Press Refill Postage.
  3. Select Check PBP balance.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. Select Get Update Now.  The screen displays several messages including downloading updates and installing update.
Important: If the update prompt does not appear, the meter may already be up-to-date or updates are not ready for download. Visit our Rates and Software Updates page for more information.
  1. At the prompt System Update Complete, select Return Home.

Using PC Meter Connect or a local area network connection (LAN)

  1. Press C to go to the Home screen.
  2. Press Refill Postage.
  3. Select Check PBP balance.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. Select Get Update Now.  The screen displays several messages including downloading updates and installing update.
Important: If the update prompt does not appear, either your meter may already be up-to-date or your updates are not ready for download. Visit our Rates and Software Updates page for more information.
  1. At the prompt System Update Complete, select Return Home.

Confirm your meter update

Click on the Confirm Meter Update button to verify that your Canada Post rate update was installed successfully:

On completion of your meter update there are no further actions required. If the meter is updated before the effective date, it automatically switches to the new rates on the effective date.
Warning! Do not unplug your power cord or remove the network cords from your meter while updating, as this may cause damage to your meter. However, if your meter has been unresponsive for more than 15 minutes:
  1. Disconnect the power cord
  2. Wait one minute
  3. Plug your meter's power cord back in
  4. Restart the update process
