Updating Canada Post rates on the DM125 (PREC)

Learn how to update Canada Post rates on the DM125 (PREC).
Products affected: DM125™ (PREC)
Make sure that your system is connected using a SmartLink™ device, PC Meter Connect™ or a local area network connection (LAN) to communicate with the Pitney Bowes Data Centre.

  2. Confirm your meter update

Using a SmartLink device

Meters connected via a SmartLink™ device update automatically unless a lock code is enabled.
If you use a lock code, unlock your meter and follow these steps to update your meter:
  1. Press the Add Postage key.
  2. Select Check PBP balance.
  3. The PBP balance screen displays.  At the prompt Add Postage?, press No.
  4. Select Get Update Now. The screen displays various messages; your update completes in approximately 5 - 10 minutes.
Important: If the update prompt does not appear, the meter may already be up to date or updates are not ready for download. Visit our Rates and Software Updates page for more information.
  1. Installing Update and Initializing screens display. Do not remove power during initialization.
  2. The Install Successful or Download Complete dialog displays; select Press to restart.
  3. Repeat steps 2 - 4 to be sure all the updates have been installed.
  4. Once INSTALL SUCCESSFUL displays, press Continue to return to the Home screen.
    • If the message Data Capture Upload Required appears, select Connect Now, as you have another update to download. Upon completion, select Continue.

Using PC Meter Connect™  

  1. On the PC running the PC Meter Connect application, double click on the PCMC icon to open the application.
  2. Click the Updates tab from the PC Meter Connect main window.
  3. Click on Update Software. The meter checks to see if any updates are required.
Important: If the update prompt does not appear, the meter may already be up to date or updates are not ready for download. Visit our Rates and Software Updates page for more information.
  1. Click on Download.
  2. When the update is complete, the system prompts you to click Continue then Done.

Using a local area network connection (LAN)

  1. Press the Add Postage key.
  2. Select Check PBP balance.
  3. The PBP balance screen displays.  At the prompt Add Postage?, press No.
  4. Select Get Update Now. The screen displays various messages; the update completes in approximately 5 - 10 minutes.

Confirm your meter update

Click on the Confirm Meter Update button to verify that your Canada Post rate update installed successfully:

On completion of your meter update there are no further actions required. If the meter is updated before the effective date, it automatically switches to the new rates on the effective date.
Warning! Do not unplug your power cord or remove the network cords from your meter while updating, as this may cause damage to your meter. However, if your meter has been unresponsive for more than 15 minutes:
  1. Disconnect the power cord.
  2. Wait one minute.
  3. Plug your meter's power cord back in.
  4. Restart the update process.
