Selecting a class or extra service
Use the Class menu within Run Mail to select the desired postal class or extra service.
- Select Run Mail from the Home screen.
- Select the desired Class in the Mail Information list box.
- Select the class from the class list box.
- If the class has other subclasses associated with it, it has a plus sign (+) in front of it. Selecting the class shows the additional subclasses available.
- When you select a class, the rating factors for that class appear in the list box on the left of the screen. For example, for USPS rates, this may include the Weighing method. To change any of these factors, select the item in the list box.
- If extra services are available for a class, they appear in the Extra services list box. To select a service, touch the check box for the service. For example, in the US for First Class letter, you can add insurance or COD. You can also add confirmation tracking services like Delivery confirmation, E-Certified, or Certified.
- If the selected class or service doesn’t match the weighing method, current weight, entered postage, or destination, a message will prompt you to make changes. For example, if the weighing method is incompatible, you’ll be asked to choose a new one.
- If the class or weight requires a ZIP or Zone, the system prompts you to enter it.
- If you select an international class, the system prompts you to select the country.
- Select OK until you return to the Run Mail screen.
- If necessary, select an account.
- Select the desired weighing method.
- If necessary, select the desired sealing method.
- Load the envelopes onto the feed deck.
- Check the postage amount on the screen.
- Depending on the weighing method you are using, select Start or Tape to print mail.
Run Mail options
Use the Options button within the Run Mail screen to help you choose the correct settings for your mailing jobs.
- Print a sample piece - To see how your envelope or tape will look before printing.
- Zero attached scale - This ensures that the attached scale is at a zero weight when it is empty.
- Create a new job - Select this to create a new job and you need to start over.
- High value warning - The high value warning alerts you if you enter a postage amount higher than your set limit. This prevents you from accidentally printing a postage amount that is more than you need.
- Show Envelope Quantity - This lets you run a specific number of envelopes. This feature is useful for running set batches of mail.
