Before you begin

To help ensure a smooth installation, review the following prerequisites before you start:

  • Review the following to learn more about printing from ShipAccel and to determine if you need DeviceHub:
  • Download and install the latest printer drivers from your printer manufacturer’s website.
  • For Windows computers, ensure that Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 is installed. For information, see: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2. Also note that Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 will be installed as part of the DeviceHub installation.
  • DeviceHub is supported on Windows 10 or later and Mac OS 11 (Big Sur) or later. Ensure that your system meets these requirements.
  • Ensure that you have permission from your administrator to download and install software.
  • Ensure that your network meets all of the following requirements. Contact your IT department if necessary.
  • If silent installation is required. please chat with us.

Quick steps

  1. In ShipAccel, go to Settings > My Devices and select Download DeviceHub Installer.
  2. Save and open the file.
  3. Click through the installation screens.
  4. If you're using Safari or you see "Certificate-based activation is required for DeviceHub", follow the steps under Activating DeviceHub using the certificate to complete the installation.

Downloading DeviceHub

  1. Sign in to ShipAccel.
  2. Select Settings > My Devices.
  3. Select Download DeviceHub Installer.

    Note: If the button is disabled, it means that your administrator has not given you access to download DeviceHub. Contact your administrator for assistance.
  4. Save the installer file to your computer.

Installing DeviceHub on Windows

  1. Open the downloaded installer file.
  2. If a message appears stating that DeviceHub is already installed, click OK, then click Uninstall to remove the earlier version. Once the process is complete, click Finish.
  3. If prompted, select your Language.
  4. (Optional) To change the installation folder, click Browse, choose a location,, and click OK.
  5. Select Install.
  6. When the installation is complete, sign in:
    • Select Sign in Here to sign in in the DeviceHub window, or
    • Select Sign in with Browser to sign in in a new browser tab.
  7. Once you see "DeviceHub registered successfully!", close that browser tab and minimize your browser window so that you can see the DeviceHub window underneath it.
  8. In the DeviceHub window on the Devices tab, you should see your connected devices.

  9. If you are using the Safari web browser, or if you see the message "Certificate-based activation is required for DeviceHub", proceed to the Activating DeviceHub using the certificate section below.

Enabling the DeviceHub system tray icon (recommended, Windows only)

Enabling the DeviceHub icon allows you to see status messages and errors more easily.

  1. Right-click on the Windows Start button and select Settings.
  2. Select Personalization.
  3. Select Taskbar on the left side.
  4. Scroll down to Notification Area and click on Select which icons appear on the taskbar.
  5. Find DeviceHub in the list and click the Off slider to change it to On.

Installing DeviceHub on Mac

  1. Open the downloaded installer file.
  2. Select Continue.
  3. Select Install.
  4. If prompted for your Mac password, enter it and select Install Software.
  5. Wait while the software is installed.
  6. When the installation is complete, select Close.
  7. If you are using the Safari web browser, or if you see the message "Certificate-based activation is required for DeviceHub", proceed to the Activating DeviceHub using the certificate section below.
  8. (Optional) Delete the DeviceHub installer file using Move to Trash.

Confirming device connections

  1. Go back to ShipAccel.
  2. Select Settings > My Devices.
  3. Verify that your connected printers and scales appear. If there are other shared DeviceHubs on your network, you may see them here as well.
  4. If the devices do not appear, select Refresh.

Activating DeviceHub using the certificate

If you use the Safari browser, or if you see the message "Certificate-based activation is required for DeviceHub", you need to follow these steps to activate DeviceHub after installing it.

  1. Right-click on the DH DeviceHub icon in the Windows system tray (small icons near the clock) or Mac OS menu bar and select About.
  2. Select the copy icon next to the DeviceHub Serial Number.

  3. In ShipAccel, go to Settings > My Devices.
  4. Select Activate DeviceHub.
  5. In the Enter DeviceHub Serial Number window, click in the Serial Number field and paste the serial number you copied.

  6. Select Continue.
  7. When the You're almost done message appears, click Done.

  8. Right-click on the DeviceHub icon in the Windows system tray (small icons near the clock) or Mac OS menu bar and select Sync.

  9. When you see the message "DeviceHub registered and activated!", click OK.
  10. Return to Settings > My Devices and verify that your printers and scales appear. If they do not, click the Refresh button. If there are other shared DeviceHubs on your network, you may see them as well.
