Mandatory selection of final Cost Account in hierarchy

We have implemented a new validation rule for all Shipping and Mailing operations. This rule requires users to select the most specific (last child) Cost Account when using accounts that follow a parent-child hierarchy. The rule is managed through Cost Account Settings.

An Admin user must first enable this feature. To enable this feature:

  1. Go to Settings > Cost Accounts.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Use Cost Accounting.
  4. Click Show Cost Account Hierarchy.
  5. Click Require Cost Account Hierarchy.
  6. Click Update.

Once an Admin activates the Require Cost Account Hierarchy option, users must select the entire Cost Account path, ending with the last child. If they fail to do so, they will be unable to add a Cost Center to their shipments or mail.

This validation applies to the following processes:

  • Shipping Label
  • Ship Request
  • Preset
  • ERR (Electronic Return Receipt)
  • Ship Order
  • Stamps Sheet
  • Stamp Roll
  • Stamp Envelope

Latest Updates

New information icons to guide users on battery shipping

We have added helpful information icons to make it easier to ship batteries with UPS and FedEx. Users can now quickly access battery shipping guidelines directly from each carrier’s website.

For UPS, since there is no special service for shipping lithium batteries, we have placed an information icon under the Packaging field that appears when UPS is selected as the carrier.

For FedEx, which does offer a specialized service for shipping lithium batteries, we have included direct links in the service description. Additionally, we updated the Help icon for FedEx’s lithium battery service to include important packaging and declaration requirements.

New information icons added to the Print Stamps: Envelope screen

Users will notice several improvements to the Print Stamps: Envelope screen, including:

  • Info icons have been added next to the Envelope Size and Weight fields to provide quick guidance.
  • A non-dismissible message now appears below the envelope size options, informing users when printing is not available for envelope sizes #9 and #10 and when to use a Stamp Sheet or Stamp Roll instead.
  • A direct link to the supply store has been added, making it easy to purchase Stamp Sheets or Rolls as needed.

Additional Surcharge support added to Mailing flows

We have introduced support for Additional Surcharges in the Mailing flows. When users create Stamp Sheets, Stamp Rolls, or Stamp Envelopes, they will now see any applicable surcharges, such as handling or user charges, displayed alongside the base rates. These surcharges are applied to each stamp.

Package Type Added to Automation Rule Conditions

To improve the Automation Rule feature, we’ve added Package Type to the Condition Entity menu. This lets users create rules based on two package types: Letter and Package.

Role added to Automation Rule Conditions

We’ve improved the Automation Rule feature by adding Role to the Condition Entity menu. This allows users to create rules based on Subscription Roles for more targeted automation.

Easily manage Cost Account budgets through Import

We’ve improved the Cost Account Import feature to allow for the configuration of Budgets, Threshold Values, and Notification Emails. With this update, users can now set these values through manual and automated imports, making it easier and more efficient to manage multiple Cost Account Budgets. Additionally, the import file format has been updated to include new columns that accommodate these new settings.

Special character support for User Email Addresses

We've improved the SSO (Single Sign-On) user creation process by allowing apostrophes (') in email addresses used for login. This update ensures that users with valid, RFC-compliant email addresses containing special characters can sign in and create accounts without issues.

Issues Fixed

UPS rates on History screen

We’ve updated the UPS rate details shown on the History screen. Previously, the information displayed was incorrect. To fix this, we now show the Total Shipping Charges along with any applicable User or Handling Charges.
