Setting paper guides on your FD85 (Martin Yale 1812)

Setting the paper guides for non-custom paper sizes.

If your paper size is different from the factory set paper size, adjust the paper guides to the desired size.

To adjust the paper guides:

  1. Loosen the thumb knobs of the paper guides located under the feed table.
  2. Lay a small stack of paper against the locked paper guide.
  3. Slide the opposite paper guide up to the paper and lock it in place by tightening the thumb knobs. Leave a small gap, about 1/64” (0.4mm), between the paper and guides to allow for easier paper feeding.

Note: Do not over-tighten the thumb knobs. Too much gap will cause inconsistent or crooked feeding.
