What's New

Data agent – International shipment write‑back

During the Order Scan process, the Data Agent automatically pulls real‑time international shipment details from the user’s system and displays them on the MCPM (Multi‑Carrier Parcel Management) screen. This gives operators a clear view of all compliance related information before completing the shipment.

After the shipment is fulfilled, the Data Agent writes the finalized international data back to the user’s system to keep both systems aligned. The information written back includes:

  • Ship‑to address
  • Item details such as SKU, HS Code, country of origin, quantity, item cost, weight, order number, and description
  • Customs‑related data, including AES exemptions, tax IDs and types (sender/recipient), license and invoice numbers, reason for export, terms of sale, importer reference type and reference
  • Additional comments, custom reference fields, and certificate numbers

This end‑to‑end sync ensures accuracy, reduces manual updates, and maintains consistent international shipping records across systems. This only applies to the warehouse fulfillment version of PitneyShip Enterprise.

Multi‑piece shipment workflow

PitneyShip Enterprise fulfillment now supports a streamlined multi‑piece shipping workflow. After scanning an order, users can quickly create, edit, clone, and manage multiple packages, adjusting each package’s weight, dimensions, and type. The system displays a clear shipment summary, generates labels with tracking for each package, and allows all labels to be downloaded in a single PDF. Users can also assign specific line items to the correct package.

Multi‑piece shipping is available only for carriers that support it, and returns are not supported. Shipments can be voided at the shipment level, but not per package. Existing Automation Rules still apply and are carried over from the first package to the full shipment.

Multi‑piece shipments appear in History, and Proof of Shipment records are generated for all packages. Carrier limits vary. This only applies to the warehouse fulfillment version of PitneyShip Enterprise.

Latest Updates

Minimum Postage Refill amount update

The minimum postage refill amount has been lowered from $5 to $1. This change applies to all Shipping and Mailing workflows, no matter which payment method is used. The system will now show a Minimum Refill error if the amount entered is below $1. Users can also set this new $1 minimum in Settings > Postage Refill and through Settings > Carriers.

Simplified Personal Shipping onboarding

The Personal Shipping onboarding process has been streamlined. When users switch to their Personal profile, a setup modal appears until they enter a Default Sender Address. A short tooltip also confirms they are in the Personal profile.

If the user chooses to create a Personal Account, they must enter their address, name, and phone number. These are required, and the modal will continue to appear until all details are completed. The entered address automatically becomes the default sender address, and USPS will be onboarded automatically.

After completing the form, users are sent to add a payment method. They can then choose to Add Carriers or Start Shipping.

Implemented scrolling for Cost Accounts

We’ve added a scrolling function to the Cost Account list, making it easy to browse and select from large lists. Previously, if more than 15 Cost Accounts shared the same prefix, users couldn’t reach any accounts beyond the first group because the list didn’t scroll. With this update, all Cost Accounts are now accessible.
