Managing custom fields in Mailstream On Demand

You can add custom fields to your dashboards and also edit and delete them.

Custom fields allow you to display and filter additional information about your mailpieces within the mailpieces dashboard or in your scheduled and exported reports. Many organizations find these helpful when they want to quickly sort, search, or group their mailings using specific pieces of data—such as account numbers, reference codes, or other identifiers contained within their documents.

How Custom Fields Are Used

Custom Fields are added during your onboarding process. When required, the Pitney Bowes Team @ pbmod-help@pb.com can extract key information directly from the documents you send us—for example, an account number printed on a letter—and make this available in your Dashboard as a column or filter.

Because custom fields depend on the content within your documents, they need to be set up carefully to ensure they extract the correct information.
