PitneyAnalytics Release Notes version 1.127.0 (June 25, 2026)
Products affected: PitneyAnalytics®
What's New
Rating Class Standardization
This new feature allows organizations to create and use their own Custom Rating Classes for reporting and analysis. Users can download a predefined CSV template from the Analytics interface, fill in their custom values, and upload the file back into the system. The template includes Carrier, Rating Class, Rating Class Advanced, and Custom Rating Class fields. The first three fields are already populated based on existing Analytics data, so users only need to add their custom classifications. Once uploaded, the mappings are stored in a standard location and automatically applied during Analytics processing. Only existing Rating Class and Advanced Rating Class combinations are available for customization and reporting.
The feature also enhances the Spend Summary Report by adding a new “Custom Rating Class” grouping option, allowing users to analyze shipping spend and activity using their own business categories. If no custom value is assigned, the field will remain blank. The new field is fully supported across Excel, CSV, and PDF exports, as well as scheduled email and SFTP reports. Overall, this update gives organizations greater flexibility to align analytics with their internal reporting needs while simplifying the process of maintaining custom classifications through an easy import workflow.
Report Wizards
This new feature introduces Report Wizards with predefined templates to make report creation faster and easier. Users can now create Sending reports using a guided workflow instead of building them from scratch. A new Create New Report option is available in the Favorites/My Reports section, allowing users to select from six ready-made templates. Each template automatically fills in key details such as the report name, columns, and default date range. Users can preview the report as they build it, review the selected columns, and make adjustments before saving. The process is flexible, and users can cancel at any time without saving changes.
Once completed, reports can be saved directly to My Reports, with built-in validation to prevent duplicate names. Users can then export reports from the Favorites section or schedule them using existing scheduling options, with confirmation provided upon successful setup. Overall, this feature simplifies report creation, especially for new or occasional users, reduces the time needed to generate common reports, and ensures a consistent reporting experience by using standardized templates.
Latest Updates
Admin Role Assignment Restrictions
This update enhances role governance by restricting the assignment of the Admin role to prevent unintended privilege escalation. Enterprise, Division, and Location Admins can no longer assign the Admin role when creating or updating users. The Admin role option is now hidden from the Assign Role dropdown. If these admins attempt to edit a user who already has the Admin role, they must remove and replace it with an allowed role before saving any changes. Similarly, assigning the Admin role through user import is no longer supported for these admin types—any such attempts will trigger an error message. However, PB Admins can still assign the Admin role as needed.
