Managing user logins on the SendPro MailCenter 1000, 2000, and 3000

Set up user logins to prevent unauthorized use of your meter.

User logins overview

  • You can create two levels of user access: supervisor or operator. If you do not create any users, the meter defaults to supervisor access.
  • Users with supervisor access can create, edit and delete accounts and can turn user logins on and off. In addition, supervisors can manage operator access to certain functions.
  • Users with operator access to the meter can perform most functions, with the exception of account and user management and any functions that the supervisor restricts.
  • Setting up a single user allows you to log in and log out of the meter, effectively locking it from use. 
  • You can create an unlimited number of users on your c.
  • Important: Supervisor access rights are required to manage users.

Enabling user logins

Enable logins to allow at least one user with a password to protect your meter from unauthorized access.

  1. Select Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Select System.
  3. Select Users.
  4. On the User setup tab, select Enable user logins.... You create a user with supervisor access rights.
    1. Enter the user name and then select OK.
    2. Enter the password and select OK.
    3. Re-enter the password and select OK.
    4. (Optional) Select Password hint to add a password hint. Enter the hint and select OK.
    5. Select OK once complete.
  5. If you would like to add additional users, select Yes, create another user. If you do not want to add any additional users at this time, select No, done creating users.
  6. Select Home to return to the Home screen.

Adding users

You can add users to the meter as needed.

  1. Select Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Select System.
  3. Select Users.
  4. Select Add new.
  5. Enter the user name in the Username field and then select OK.
  6. If you want the user to enter a password or if the user needs supervisor access, select the Require password check box.
  7. Enter the password and select OK.
  8. Re-enter the password and select OK.
  9. (Optional) Select Password hint to add a password hint. Enter the hint and select OK.
  10. Select the desired user role: Supervisor or Operator.
  11. Select OK to return to the user settings screen.
  12. (Optional) Select Password hint to add a password hint. Enter the hint and select OK.
  13. Select Home to return to the Home screen.

Editing users

If you need to make changes to a user's permissions or password, you can edit the user.

  1. Select Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Select System.
  3. Select Users.
  4. Select the user you want to edit and then select Edit.
  5. Make the desired changes.
  6. Select OK to return to the user settings screen.
  7. Select Home to return to the Home screen.

Editing user roles

A supervisor can manage the access rights granted to users with the operator role.

  • Any changes you make to access rights will apply to all operators.
  • Supervisors always have full access to system functions.
  1. Select Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Select System.
  3. Select Users.
  4. Select the Roles setup tab.
  5. Select Operator.
  6. Select the functions in the Allow access to: list that you want users to be able to perform.
    • A check mark shows that all operators will have access to that function.
    • An empty check box shows that all operators will not have access to the function.
  7. Select Home to return to the Home screen.

Deleting users

If a user is no longer needed, you can delete them.

  1. Select Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Select System.
  3. Select Users.
  4. Select the user you want to delete and then select Delete. Note: If you are deleting the only user on your meter, a warning advises that user logins will be turned off and all system security will be disabled. If account passwords are being used, they will be disabled as well.
  5. Select Yes, delete user.
  6. Select Home to return to the Home screen.

Disabling user logins

Disabling off user logins disables all system security. Account passwords, if used, will be disabled and all system functions will be unlocked. User information remains in the meter, should you want to enable users again at a later date.

  1. Select Settings from the Home screen.
  2. Select System.
  3. Select Users.
  4. Select the Enable user logins... check box to remove the check mark.
  5. Select Yes, turn off user logins.
  6. Select Home to return to the Home screen.
