If the message "Error message from the carrier : Code: SELECTED.DESTINATION.SERVICETYPE.INVALID , Message: This service type is not available for the destination. Please update and try again., Parameter List:" is displayed when processing a return label using the FedEx RestAPI, it means that the selected shipping service does not support return labels.

Issue

When processing a return label or a return label with a shipment using the FedEx RestAPI, the message "Error message from the carrier : Code: SELECTED.DESTINATION.SERVICETYPE.INVALID , Message: This service type is not available for the destination. Please update and try again., Parameter List:" is displayed.

Cause

The selected shipping service does not support return labels.

Resolution

Select a shipping service that supports return labels. Supported FedEx services include:

  • FedEx First Overnight®
  • FedEx Priority Overnight®
  • FedEx Standard Overnight®
  • FedEx 2Day®
  • FedEx 2Day®A.M.
  • FedEx Ground®
  • FedEx Home Delivery®
