PitneyShip Enterprise Release Notes version 1.131.0 (September 18, 2026)
Products affected: PitneyShip® Enterprise
What's New
Providing importer of record and tax information for international shipments
Users can now provide Importer of Record information for eligible UPS and FedEx international shipments, including shipments using Bring Your Own Account (BYOA). The Importer of Record address is always visible and defaults to the recipient, with the option to select an alternate importer when needed. Importer and tax information is automatically included with carrier requests, helping meet international shipping and customs requirements. Tax Identifier fields are easier to find, and requirements are applied based on whether the importer is a business or an individual. These improvements help reduce data entry errors, prevent delays caused by missing compliance information, and make it easier to prepare cross-border shipments accurately.
Managing contacts with granular permissions
Contact Management now supports granular, role-based permissions, giving administrators more control over contact-related actions. Instead of granting full contact management access, administrators can assign specific permissions for tasks such as creating, editing, deleting, importing, exporting, and managing shared or private contacts. Users can perform only the actions allowed by their assigned role, and the interface automatically displays or hides options based on those permissions. For example, users who can manage private contacts but not shared contacts can create and update private contacts only. This enhancement improves security, supports more flexible role management, and helps ensure that users have access only to the contact management functions they need.
Controlling cost account access and settings by role
Administrators can now assign separate permissions for specific cost account tasks, allowing greater control over how cost accounts are managed across the organization. Access can be granted individually for creating, updating, deleting, importing, exporting, and configuring cost accounts, so users only see the functions required for their role. Cost account settings can also be managed independently, making it easier to control account structures, rules, and related configuration options. This enhancement supports stronger governance, reduces unnecessary access to sensitive cost account functions, and helps organizations create role-based access models that align with operational and financial requirements.
Latest Updates
Using FedEx Express Freight services
You can now rate, process, and ship freight packages using FedEx 1Day Freight, FedEx 2Day Freight, and FedEx 3Day Freight services directly in the application. The system now applies freight-specific validation and rating rules instead of standard parcel shipment rules, helping ensure that freight shipments are processed correctly. Previously, valid freight shipments could be rejected because they were evaluated against parcel shipment size restrictions. With this update, freight shipments are validated using FedEx freight requirements, including freight-specific dimension, weight, length, and girth limits. This improves rating accuracy, supports eligible freight shipments during rate shopping and shipment processing, and helps prevent valid freight shipments from being incorrectly rejected.
Managing contacts and cost accounts with role-based permissions
Contact Management and Cost Account Management now use granular role-based permissions, giving administrators more control over what users can view and do. Administrators can independently manage permissions for contact-related tasks such as creating, editing, deleting, importing, exporting, and managing shared or private contacts, as well as cost account tasks such as creating, editing, deleting, importing, exporting, and configuring cost account settings. Shipping workflows now honor these permissions across key shipping screens, so users only see and access the contact and cost account functions assigned to their role. This enhancement helps organizations create roles that match business requirements, improves security by limiting access to authorized functions, and provides a simpler user experience by displaying only the actions relevant to each user.
Managing contacts with granular permissions
Contact Management now supports separate role-based permissions, giving administrators more control over who can manage shared and private contacts. Administrators can grant permissions to create and edit shared contacts or manage private contacts, including adding, editing, deleting, importing, exporting, and viewing related history records. These permissions are applied within the MCPM Order shipping workflow, ensuring that users can access only the contact management functions assigned to their role. This enhancement helps administrators create business-specific roles, improve access control, and provide users with the permissions they need to perform shipping tasks efficiently.
