Sending EU De Minimis Product Identifiers with FedEx shipments in SendPro Enterprise

SendPro Enterprise can send EU product identifiers (PIDs) to FedEx for business-to-consumer sales imported into the European Union, as required by the EU.

Products affected: SendPro® Enterprise

SendPro Enterprise can send EU product identifiers (PIDs) to FedEx for business-to-consumer sales imported into the European Union, as required by the EU.

Product identifier columns

For international shipments, the package contents grid contains three columns:

  • Merchant Product ID: Your own product identifier for the item, for example your SKU
  • Manufacturer Product ID: The manufacturer's own part, model, or SKU number. It must not be a copy of the Merchant Product ID.
  • Standardized Manufacturer Product ID: A standard identifier such as a GTIN, EAN, UPC or ISBN, if the product has one.

Shipments affected

SendPro Enterprise sends the product identifiers to FedEx when the shipment is sent from outside of the EU to an EU member state or a territory inside the EU customs area that SendPro Enterprise lists under its own country code (Monaco, the Åland Islands, the Canary Islands, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Réunion, Mayotte, French Guiana and Saint-Martin).

  • They are sent on ship, return, and consolidated shipments. Rate requests are not affected.
  • The Merchant Product ID is required. If it is blank, no product identifiers are sent for that item.
  • If the Standardized Manufacturer Product ID is blank, SendPro Enterprise sends NA to FedEx, as FedEx requires.
  • Enter the Manufacturer Product ID for every item. EU customs treat it as mandatory, even though SendPro Enterprise sends the shipment without it.
  • SendPro Enterprise does not validate the identifiers and FedEx does not reject shipments without them. Shipments with missing identifiers may be held at EU customs.

Tip: FedEx bills duties and taxes to the recipient by default, so include the recipient's email address on EU shipments. If FedEx cannot contact the recipient, the charges may fall back to the shipper.
