How to resolve inspection due on the DM300C, DM400C, and more

Canada Post regulations require that a meter be inspected periodically. This inspection occurs automatically whenever the meter is refilled with postage or the system connects to the Data Center to perform a balance inquiry.  If a postage refill or connection to the PB Data Center does not occur within a 60 day or 90 day period, the meter will display either message: Inspection Due or Inspection Required.

Normally the system will prompt you to clear the Inspection Due message.  If the prompt has been cleared, you can still perform the Inspection by following these steps:
  1. Connect your system to an analog phone line, PC Meter Connect™ or LAN, the same way you would when adding postage
  2. Press the Refill Postage key
  3. Select Check PBP Balance
  4. Your meter connects to PB Postage and displays the balance available
  5. Select Continue to return to your Main screen
