Setting a fold type on your FD85 (Martin Yale 1812)

After you have decided which fold type to use, you must set your folder to preform the correct fold.

Use the following directions and the fold chart to create all types of folds. The folding chart is also located on the operator interface for quick reference.

Setting the fold type

  1. Loosen the fold table thumb knob on the first fold table assembly.
  2. Adjust the paper stop to the appropriate circle (according to the folding chart).
  3. Tighten the fold table thumb knob.

  4. Place a stack of the paper to be folded on the first feed table assembly.
  5. Set the paper guides so that the sheet is centered under the feed wheel and slides freely down between the paper guides without excessive side play.
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 on the second feed table assembly if required.
  7. Run the folder and fold several sheets.
  8. Stop the folder and inspect the folded sheets for accuracy.
  9. Make first fold corrections with the first fold table paper stop.
  10. Make second fold corrections with the second fold table paper stop.
  11. After corrections are made, turn on the folder and complete the folding job.
