Managing carriers in PitneyShip Enterprise

You can add, update, and delete carrier accounts as needed.

You can add, update, and delete carrier accounts as needed.

This article only applies to the warehouse fulfillment version of PitneyShip Enterprise.

Adding a carrier account

In order to ship with a carrier in PitneyShip Enterprise, you first need to set up your carrier account in PitneyShip Enterprise.

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. If you wish to add a FedEx or UPS PB Rates account, click the Activate button next to it and follow the prompts.
  3. For other carrier accounts, select the Add Carrier button.
  4. If the carrier you wish to add is on the list, select it. If not, skip to step 5.
    1. In the Carrier Display Name field, enter a name for the account.
    2. Complete the required carrier account information (varies by carrier).
    3. Select Add Carrier.
  5. If the carrier you wish to add is not on the list:
    1. Select More Carrier(s) at the bottom.

    2. If you have need to add a carrier for a location in another country, select the country from the Location Country menu. You will only see this menu if you have one or more locations in a country other than the one your location is in.

    3. In the Carrier Display Name field, enter a name for the account.
    4. Select the carrier you wish to add from the Select Carrier menu. The screen will change to display fields specific to that carrier.
    5. Complete the required carrier account information (varies by carrier).
    6. Under Access Level, choose who will have access to this account:
      • Enterprise: All divisions, locations, and roles will have access to this account
      • Division: Select the division(s) that you want to have access to this account
      • Location: Select the location(s) that you want to have access to this account
      • Roles: Select the user role(s) that you want to have access to this account (PitneyShip Enterprise only)
    7. Select Add Carrier.

Activating and deactivating carriers

Enterprise Administrators can activate or deactivate carriers. This allows administrators to continue viewing and managing carrier configurations even when the carrier is not currently in use. When a carrier is inactive, it remains visible in the carrier list but is not available for creating orders or labels.

Important: Activating or deactivating a carrier does not change the status of its associated carrier accounts.

Note: If a carrier has reached its shipment limit, you cannot activate or deactivate the carrier.

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. Select the Active or Inactive slider next to the carrier to change it.

Activating and deactivating carrier accounts

Individual carrier accounts must be deactivated separately from carriers.

Note: If a carrier account has reached its shipment limit, you cannot activate or deactivate the carrier account. Carrier accounts cannot be reactivated if the associated carrier is inactive.

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. Click the arrow to the right of the carrier whose account you wish to edit.

  3. Select the Edit Account Preferences icon next to the account.

  4. Select Active or Inactive.
  5. Select Save.

Editing a carrier account

You can update carrier account information if needed.

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. Click the arrow to the right of the carrier whose account you wish to edit.

  3. Select the Edit Carrier icon next to the carrier you wish to edit.

  4. To edit all of the carrier accounts under this carrier, select the checkbox at the top of the account list, then select the Bulk Edit Preferences button.

  5. To change the package types and services that an account is allowed to use, select the Edit Account Preferences icon next to the account.

    If doing a bulk edit, select the Allow editing ____ box, then choose the options you want to allow. This will overwrite any current selections in that category.
  6. Update the information as needed.
  7. Select Save.

Deleting a carrier account

If you no longer need a carrier account, you can delete it, provided you have sufficient Admin rights.

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. Click the arrow to the right of the carrier whose account you wish to edit.

  3. Select the Delete Carrier icon next to the carrier you wish to delete.

  4. To delete all of the carrier accounts under this carrier, select the checkbox at the top of the account list, then select the Delete button.

  5. Select Delete to confirm.

Exporting carrier accounts

You can export your carrier account information if needed.

  1. Select Settings > Carriers.
  2. Select Export.
  3. Save the file as directed by your web browser.
