Resolution

If you have print issues with your red ink meter stamp, try the solutions in order.

Solution 1: Check the ink cartridge level

Make sure you installed a genuine Pitney Bowes ink cartridge. If you need ink, order a genuine Pitney Bowes replacement ink cartridge from the Pitney Bowes support site.

  1. From the Home screen tap the right arrow.
    spcx-home-screen-right-arrow
  2. Tap Ink & Maintenance.
  3. Your ink level remaining shows in the Envelope printer maintenance screen.

  2. Tap Ink & Maintenance.
  3. Tap Clean Print Nozzle. Scroll down to the Envelope Printer Settings section.
  4. Tap Clean Print Nozzle on the Clean Print Nozzle menu.
  5. When the screen says Ready to print, feed an envelope or tape sheet into the device.
  6. If there is no print at all, or if the test pattern has broken lines or smears like this sample bad print then clean your print nozzle again. Tap Clean Print Nozzle.

  7. Compare the printed test pattern to the ones on the screen. If the test pattern look like this, it is a good print sample.
    good test pattern
  8.  If the print quality is good, tap Done to return to the Envelope Printer Maintenance menu.
  9. If the test pattern is still poor, follow steps 3 through 8 again. Do this twice before continuing to Solution 3.

Solution 3: Clean the Printhead

See Cleaning the printhead on the SendPro CX Series

Solution 4: Positioning the side guides

If the side guides are positioned incorrectly it can lead to material movement when the envelope is being printed. A skewed enveloped can either exit the device with no postage applied, cause a crooked or blurred print or cause a jam. This could deduct funds. Envelopes must beheld against the back wall to avoid skews. See Feeding envelopes on the SendPro C Auto and SendPro CX 500.
