Red light flashing while in cradle on J594 and J785 handheld Tracking Assistants used with SendSuite Arrival

Issue

The red light on a J594 or J785 Tracking Assistant is flashing when it is in the cradle.

Cause

The battery is no longer charging and may need replacement.

Resolution

If the scanner’s red LED is flashing, this indicates a battery charging problem.

To remove and reinsert the battery:
  1. Insert a coin or flathead screwdriver into the slot at the base of the scanner and turn counterclockwise to release the latch.
  2. Lift the latch.
  3. Turn the scanner upright and slide the battery out.
  4. Reinsert the battery and close the latch.
If the red light is still flashing, the battery will need to be replaced. Either order new battery part #BTRY-LS34IAB00-00 from a third party, or contact Pitney Bowes to order a power supply kit.
