HEADLINE ENHANCEMENTS

The following headline enhancements have been implemented in SendPro Enterprise:

SendPro Enterprise. Support for hybrid system installations.

Affects licensed SendPro Enterprise users only.

SendPro Enterprise now supports hybrid installation models for on-premise systems. This feature enables on-premise customers to utilize an identity provider (IdP) hosted within the Pierbridge SaaS environment. In support:

  • When applying 8.42.0 in Instance Manager, a popup presents allowing users to enter their Organization ID. This is supplied by Pitney Bowes. Once a valid value is entered, it is saved to the configuration file. The Organization ID only needs to be configured once.
  • When configuring Instances in SendPro Enterprise Setup, the Identity Provider Url field is no longer read only. The field only accepts valid live or test Pierbridge IdP Urls.
  • If operating with existing instances at version 8.34.0 and above, the IdP Url must be configured to a valid Pierbridge IdP Url. No configuration changes can be made to an instance before this value is configured.
  • Removed the ability to configure IdP instances in SendPro Enterprise Setup.
  • Following the upgrade, users will be asked to change their passwords after the first login.

Note that the following elements are impacted by this change:

  • Following the upgrade, authentication methods, such as SAML, will need complete reconfiguration in both SendPro Enterprise and any third-party authentication providers.
  • If operating with load-balanced servers with a shared database, this will need to be reconfigured as per the existing process. If operating with load-balanced servers with separate xml configurations, you will need to do the following:
    1. On the first instance, upgrade to 8.42.0.
    2. Press Install, then Run Now.
    3. Right-click the instance, and select Export Transtream Client Credentials.
    4. On the second instance, upgrade to 8.42.0.
    5. Right-click the instance, select Import Transtream Client Credentials and choose the import file from the first instance.
    6. Press Install, then Run Now.

OTHER CHANGES

The following other changes have been implemented in SendPro Enterprise:

Requests. Improvements to error handling.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

The ship response has been updated to improve the treatment of the ErrorLocationElementName node returned by the carrier. This fix ensures the Status Description includes more detail to assist users with error handling.

Desktop App. Corrected workflow issues.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

An issue has been resolved whereby users could proceed through Desktop workflows before all required fields had been populated. Now, the Next button is disabled until all required data is provided.

Personal Shipping App. Updated handling of Zip codes.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

In the Personal Shipping App, the Zip field is now required in all three address tabs (Ship From, Returns, Ship To) if the corresponding Country dropdown is set to United States or Canada. Note that the field is not required when shipping to other countries.

Consolidated Shipping. Updated treatment of FedEx Web Services shipments.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

The logic used to process FedEx Web Services consolidated shipments has been updated to improve tracking functionality. Now, when a FedEx Web Services consolidated trailer is closed, a shipment is created within SendPro Enterprise for the consolidated first-mile shipment (customer to FedEx facility). Furthermore, if required by the service, an additional shipment is created for sending the consolidated customs documents. For example, the carrier’s consolidated services are now handled as:

  • FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® (IPD). Two shipments are created - consolidated shipment and documents shipment.
  • FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® Freight (IDF). Two shipments are created - consolidated shipment and documents shipment.
  • FedEx® International DirectDistribution Surface Solutions (TD). One shipment created - consolidated shipment (no documents shipment returned by FedEx).

This fix ensures that FedEx Web Services consolidated shipments display as expected in the View App and can be tracked fully.

In addition, the shipping Apps’ Consolidation tab has been amended to allow for the deletion of closed FedEx Web Services consolidated shipments.

FedEx Web Services. Corrected issue with international returns.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

International returns processed with FedEx Web Services now function as expected. Previously, errors occurred due to missing customs duties Bill To Type and Account Number elements in the return request.

UPS Consolidated. Support for WorldEase printing options.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

A new setting has been added to SendPro Enterprise, UPS World Ease Return Single Label. The setting, configured in the All Settings page of the Administration App’s Data tab, determines how labels are handled for UPS Consolidated WorldEase shipments. Currently, ConnectShip automatically combines international shipments and returns labels for every package in the collection, often resulting in duplicate labels that are not needed. If configured to True, only labels for the current shipment are returned in product ship responses. If set to False, labels are returned for every package as per the original behavior.

UPS Freight API. Corrected treatment of Declared Value.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

The DeclaredValue element is now handled correctly by UPS Freight API. Previously, the carrier would read the ContentValue field instead of the DeclaredValue field.

Data Management. Resolved issue with additional data in Cost Center Chargeback exports.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Scheduled monthly data exports of the Cost Center Chargeback entity no longer return additional days in the export. Previously, the day prior to the scheduled date range was incorrectly included, resulting in duplicate transactions from the previous month displaying in export files.

Shipping Apps. Quantity Left now functions as expected.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

The Quantity Left field, in the Apps’ line items table, now populates as expected. Previously, the field remained empty following a ship request.

Affects licensed SendPro Enterprise users only.

An issue has been resolved whereby customs label configuration options failed to display when the Generate From field is set to Custom Label Generator.

DHL XML-PI. Corrected handling of UK shipments.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

Shipping from UK addresses to European countries using DHL XML-PI carrier services now functions as expected. Previously, shipments failed due to changes incurred with Brexit and the handling of the IsDutiable flag.

Outputs. Resolved issue with incorrect values on Bill of Lading.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

An issue has been resolved whereby the Number Of Pieces and Weight values on generated Bill of Lading outputs did not match the submitted shipment data. This was due to issues with package weight calculations.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

The ability to configure ETD Header and Signature image files has been removed for FedEx Freight Web Services as it is not supported by the carrier.

SaaS Transportation. Resolved issue with missing Payment Terms on Bill of Lading.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

The PayerType node in product ship request is now correctly mapped to the PaymentTerms element within the carrier’s BookShipment request. This fix corrects issues whereby freight payment terms did not display on generated Bill of Lading outputs. Note that SaaS Transportation supports Sender, Recipient and Third-Party payment types.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.

PB Shipping API. Corrected processing of future date shipments.

Affects all SendPro Enterprise users.
